Leeum Samsung Museum of Art

Open since 2004, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art consists of two museums. Museum 1 exhibits Korean antiquities and Museum 2 displays both Korean and international contemporary art on a permanent basis.

Artistry of the Museum

The museum was co-designed by three world-renown architects: Mario Botta, Jean Nouvel, and Rem Koolhaas.  The personalities of the architects seem to blend in harmoniously, and for this reason many consider the buildings of the museum themselves a work of art.

High-quality Exhibitions and Programs

Leeum's collections, which include Korean antiquities and contemporary art, as well as modern and contemporary art from around the world, are the foundation upon which their colorful and exuberant permanent and special exhibits are built upon.

The museum's specialists conduct ongoing research, plan exhibitions, conserve its collections, create educational programs, and highlight world-class artists.  Dealing in both traditional and modern arts, the museum's exhibitions have been given high marks for their variety as well as for their cultural and artistic value.
